GIVE Thanks

As Tony Robbins says,
“When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.”

Do the twists and turns of life take you by surprise? Throw you off? Keep you from finding a reason to be thankful?

In our world of deadlines and demands, it’s easy to take things for granted, never feeling a genuine sense of gratitude. Yet if we gravitate to a place of awe and wonder, where time stands still, we may realize in that moment that we are right with the world. The spirit of gratitude is especially fitting this holiday season as we look to those who have been on the journey with us, acknowledging them with gifts of thanks.

My son just turned 16. woo hoo I guess. He has only been 16 for 4 days and Holy Moly is there a switch in their brain when they turn 16 that turns them into raging hormones, children that think they are adults? He has had his license for about 36 hours and he has already going places he didn’t tell us about! Then he tried the whole I didn’t know thing…… yeah uh huh. Which resulted in us driving around to find him. We then had a long talk, about why we needed to know where he was. You know the whole accident thing. No one knowing where he was, what if he needed help. By the end of the conversation, he admitted he was wrong and that he had no defense for what he did. He also understood that there would be massive consequences for a repeat offense. I think we may have been able to put a leash on the beast for a minute or two. Anyone else have teens and stories?

Gold Canyon Vs Yankee Candle

Competition for the Yankee Candle is finally here. The Yankee Candle is definitely known because of its large variety and long lasting scents. But watch out Gold Canyon candles are definitely right on Yankee Candles heels. Gold Canyon is providing the same great quality and variety as Yankee Candles but for less money out of your pocket book. Face the facts we can all use that in these times and especially with the holidays coming up.

Why should you purchase Gold Canyon candles? They tend to burn more evenly due to the fact that they are double-wicked. Yankee Candles are not. They also tend to last longer and burn cleaner. The best reason of all is you are getting more quality for your money, without having to sacrifice selection.

Melissa Smith’s Gold Canyon Story

Simply stated … I love candles. Ever since I can remember, I love the way a candle can change your mood or bring back a memory or even just create warmth in your favorite room. So being the candle addict I am, I’ve seen just about every scented candle out there.

But then one day my neighbor gave me a catalog and showed me her candles, and it was love at first scent! The long-lasting fragrance really impressed me and I couldn’t believe how many different fragrances there were! I had been looking for a job that would give me the freedom to be a stay-at-home mom, and still be able to earn some extra money.

After thinking about it, I decided to become an Independent Demonstrator. I love the opportunity of introducing new people to Gold Canyon candles and reaching levels of success that I never before thought possible. With such a high quality product, it’s so easy to do! If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a Gold Canyon Demonstrator or Host, please e-mail me!

Self Development Phase1

I have a lot of things going on right now to try and make me a better me.  I am trying to better myself; spiritual, mentally, physically, and financially.  The financially thing just never seem to go quite the way I would like it to, quite honestly neither does the mental or physical thing.  So this time I am focusing on all at the same, in place of just one or the other.

Spiritually:

I am trying to wake up a few minutes earlier and make sure I talk one on one with God for a moment.  I am also trying make sure to remind my kids to pray everyday and say grace at the dinner table. I try to start off my day with a few modern upbeat christian songs. This doesn’t always happens but when my radio is working in my car it does. :) I know I need a little help here and there and I can not do everything on my own.

Financially:

We have developed a budget at home to keep track of our spending. This is a slow and painful process. Feeding 3 teenagers on a small budget is easy. Of course neither is clothing or trying to entertain 3 teenagers.

Welcome to My World the Story Begins

Welcome to My World

Introduction:

Welcome to my world. Let me introduce myself. I am a highly powerful, sophisticated, get the job done, self reliant, responsible, well liked, respected, feared, wealthy, very important person, in my world. (clearing throat) When I walk into a room a hush falls upon whoever may be standing around. They are in awe of my presence, and sometimes scramble around finding something to do as to look as if they are important too.
